I teach IB ESS and have spent the past nine years working with students who need a clearer handle on systems, sustainability, and the IA. Most of my lessons start with whatever the student is actually stuck on, whether that is energy flows, water resources, or writing a sharper evaluation. I also spend a lot of time on command terms and past-paper wording because that is where marks are often lost.

Hi, I’m an IB ESS tutor with a background in ecology and field research. I like teaching the parts of ESS that students usually find messy: population change, biodiversity, pollution, and those longer 7–9 mark answers. I’ve helped students plan IAs from the first research question through data presentation, especially when they have a lot of information but are not sure what to do with it.

I’ve taught IB ESS for 14 years, including several cohorts working through the updated syllabus. My tutoring is fairly direct: we identify weak topics, practise exam-style responses, and improve IA structure line by line. I particularly enjoy teaching climate systems and human population units, as students often improve quickly once they understand the links between data, case studies, and evaluation.

I tutor IB ESS for students who want lessons that feel practical rather than lecture-heavy. I studied environmental policy and have worked with students on case-study selection, graph interpretation, and making their IA conclusions sound less vague. I’m quite calm in lessons, but I do push students to be precise with terms like “resilience”, “sustainability”, and “biodiversity”.

My main subject is IB ESS, and I’ve been tutoring it online for six years alongside environmental science curriculum work. I usually support students in two areas: getting the science right and writing answers that match what the IB is asking for. I’m especially comfortable with ecosystems, conservation, food production, and IA data analysis, including how to present limitations without overdoing it.

I’m an IB ESS tutor with a strong interest in oceans, climate change, and resource use. A lot of my students come to me after finding the course “too broad”, so I help them organise topics into systems, feedback loops, and real examples. I also work closely on IA planning, especially choosing a manageable method and keeping the research question narrow enough to answer well.
